Strawberry Cherry Chia Jam

This simple, no pectin, no refined sugar jam is fresh and sweet and tart all at the same time.  Perfect on a piece of toast for breakfast!


  • 1 1/2 cup pitted cherries
  • 1 1/2 cup sliced strawberries
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp maple syrup
  • 3 tbsp chia seeds


Heat the cherries and strawberries in a medium pot until they start to get bubbly and syrupy.  Once the fruit has softened, mash with a potato masher until all of the fruit has been mashed.  

Add the lemon juice and maple syrup and stir.  

Remove from heat and transfer to a bowl.  Add the chia seeds, stir and let sit for 20 minutes.  Enjoy immediately or jar and refrigerate or freeze until ready to eat!
