Dry Rubbed BBQ Baked Chicken Drumsticks

These chicken drumsticks were so full of flavor and were a hit with the whole family! These are dry rubbed, baked and brushed with BBQ sauce at the very end.

Prep/cook time: 1 hour

  • 8 chicken drumsticks

  • 2 tsp salt

  • 2 tsp coconut sugar/brown sugar/white sugar

  • 1 tsp chili powder

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 2 tsp steak seasoning

  • dash of cayenne pepper

  • 1/3 cup bbq sauce of choice


Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Cover a large baking sheet with foil for easy cleanup.

Combine rub ingredients (salt-cayenne) in a small bowl and set aside.

Pat chicken drumsticks dry. Rub evenly with prepared rub.

Bake for 30 minutes, remove from oven, flip and bake for an additional 20 minutes.

Brush one side with BBQ sauce, cook for 10 minutes, brush the other side and cook for an additional 10 minutes.
